Daoc Patch 1 109 Games

I'm totally new. All i know is that DAOC was a great game and I am hoping DoL is a free implementation of DAOC back in the days when it was very popular. What i don't know is:-1) Where do I download the full install for DoL?2) If I am directed to the DAOC website to download it, is DoL free or what do I have to pay?3) Is DoL and official DAOC completely separate?4) how big is the download5) is the launcher for DoL related to DAOC? Or does it replace DAOC and make DoL free?there are other questions but my objective is to get a full version of the game going with a new account in RvR mode so i can explore a bit.gr8 effort btw for all the modding community who put this together. It sounds awesome. DOL Visitor Posts: 13 Joined: Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:03 pm.

Hello,1) DOLServer - Overview2) Open Source, so free, but the client used is the mythic one. You are charged by Mythic when you hire an account ro connect to their servers. Not DOL ones.3) Yes. DOL is a free software which is simply talking with the DAoC client software.4) full featured, around 10 Mb5) nope, you have to use our custom launcher, aka 'DAoC Portal'.

This launcher also acts as a portal listing all active DOL shard, and allowing you to connect them. One important thing: the state of the world is related to the database shipped with the software. We are no longer supporting the current database, but you can find more complete ones on the forum. Need help:/ is this the right place to ask?I downloaded and installed this client from here (1.9gig download):-I then followed the instructions from here:-Since I think i already have the client installed, I downloaded the launcher and the script from here:-I then installed the launcher. I tried following this tutorialBut I couldn't find the equivalent folder on my Windows 7 system drive.I clicked portal.exe.I selected the Storm RvR server.Put in a login and password and clicked play.It reached the splash screen and then said I had the wrong version and asked me to click ESC to exit.I tried replacing the game.dll from here:-It didn't work weither. Can anyone help?

New Daoc

Should I uninstall and reinstall.?Or do I need a new client?tx!DOL Visitor Posts: 13 Joined: Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:03 pm. Hi graveenthx for responding.the good news is that i can join and play in Argain based on the default installation of the gameclient.but i can't get into storm.when i try getting into storm with the default game.dll it says it is the wrong version at the spash screen and asks me to press esc to exit. Um.Antebellum and Argain work with the default game.dll i get from:-Storm and Storm D2, Uthgardt, Faith and Hyperion all report the same wrong client error and ask me to press EscapeWhen I use the replacement v1109 game.dll, all of the above produce the same crash I listed above.btw may i ask:-1) what are 'supporting' and 'non-supporting' servers in the DAOC portal dialogue?

I can see the official DOL servers are Storm.2) In the DOL Portal screen, there is the settings menu: Should I select Labyrinth for the Expansion drop-down menu or leave it blank? Presently the right side says 'US Labyrinth' - should it say European.?tx for any1 who can help. Official servers are run by us, those of us actually on the DOL team.

It doesn't take much to be on the DOL team, just regular contributions and a mature behavior. It's quite possible someone can be on the DOL team and still run a contributing server.

Our servers are maintained by me and and get regular updates to the very latest DOL core code. You can think of Storm RvR as our primary test server but we pride ourselves in keeping this up and online almost 24/7.Supporting servers are not run by DOL but their owners contribute code or database changes or other valuable help to the project. It does not make sense to me that you can connect to some servers but not others. Either your installation is corrupt or something else changes when you try and connect.

HiI tried a full uninstall and reinstall of both DAOC and DOL Portal and it produced the same errors.Maybe we can't solve it right now but I will slowly keep trying maybe on a different PC.I have a question though. Is this Settings menu for DOL Portal correct?I have the game installed on my F drive under F:IslesDAOC.My C drive has the windows system files.1) Originally Settings was pointed at a Windows directory but I somehow changed it to the F drive and I can't recall what it was originally pointed at (the reinstall didn't change it back).2) Also, is it correct to have it set as 'US New isles' and blank for Expansion and language?anyway, im just trying to sort throught he possibilities to fix it. DOL Visitor Posts: 13 Joined: Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:03 pm. It worked!!i ran the little install.exe file from the official DAOC webpage and it then downloaded a massive 3.5(?) gig file. It installed to about a 4.5 gig install folder. Im cutting that to dvd. I can now log into the Storm server.!So many questions since I am pretty new to DAOC.

I've played neverwinter nights, morrowind, some other mmos etc. Some questions -edit: wait!! Ill try this faq 1st1) How do I get to level 50 immediately? ( i gather Storm is a lvl50 instant server?)2) I'm actually not sure where to go after the first room in Storm. I went into the practice chamber but where do i go next?3) Can I turn off the battle music?anyway that's all i can think of for now.the running and sidestep animation looks a bit flatfooted. But i think i can get used to it DOL Visitor Posts: 13 Joined: Mon Nov 14, 2011 11:03 pm.
